Infrared: How External Researchers Bring Tools into OST

Outflank Security Tooling (OST) has integrated InfraRED, an automation platform developed by Dominic Penn-Newman designed to streamline and secure red team infrastructure deployment. This collaboration highlights OST’s strategy of bringing high-quality external research projects into its commercial suite, transforming specialized tools into production-grade solutions. InfraRED automates the setup of servers, networking, and C2 components using Terraform and Ansible, significantly reducing manual configuration and the potential for OPSEC mistakes.

Beyond basic deployment, the platform offers a centralized dashboard for managing domains, cloud providers, and operational logs. It intelligently manages the complex relationships between infrastructure components, such as redirectors and CDN layers, ensuring all links are correctly configured before going live. Additionally, InfraRED supports post-engagement activities by allowing operators to map actions directly to the MITRE ATT&CK framework, simplifying the reporting process for offensive security professionals.
