At The Met, we believe that art is a bridge between civilizations, a voice of human experience, and a lens into our shared heritage. As we continue our mission of making art more accessible and relevant to all, we are seeking an exceptional web developer or development team to collaborate with us on a digital platform that will elevate how users engage with our services.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
We are in the early stages of developing an interactive Art Engagement Platform—a sleek, intuitive, and secure digital space where global users and clients can:
Access curated art services
Explore bespoke cultural offerings
Connect with experts, events, and resources
Manage personalized interactions with The Met’s digital presence
This platform will reflect the excellence and legacy of The Met while integrating modern UX/UI standards and responsive web architecture.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are open to working with a freelance developer, boutique agency, or development partner who meets the following criteria:
Proven experience in building high-end, scalable web platforms
Strong front-end & back-end development skills (React, Next.js, Node.js, etc.)
Understanding of secure authentication and user data handling
UI/UX design proficiency or access to a designer
Experience working with prestigious institutions or cultural organizations is a plus
DELIVERABLES
Fully functional responsive web platform
Secure admin panel for internal content management
Client login/dashboard with tailored content views
Integration of booking/contact/communication features
Optimized performance for global reach
TIMELINE
We are targeting a 3–4 month delivery window, with phased rollout potential.
BUDGET & COMPENSATION
We are open to negotiating a competitive and mutually beneficial deal. The scope of the project justifies a serious, skilled partnership, and we are prepared to compensate accordingly for quality and reliability. This could include:
Flat-rate project fee (based on scope)
Retainer or milestone-based model
Long-term collaboration for ongoing support/expansion
HOW TO EXPRESS INTEREST
If this opportunity speaks to your expertise, we’d love to hear from you. Please submit:
A brief proposal or cover letter
Examples of relevant projects or portfolios
Your availability and preliminary rate expectations
This project is not just about building a website—it’s about shaping the future of how people experience and connect with art through The Met. Let’s create something remarkable together.
