Preparing for an AWS Cloud Engineer, Cloud Support, or DevOps interview? Here are three troubleshooting scenarios worth practicing.
1. EC2 Is Running, but the Application Is Not Accessible
Check the application service, listening port, security groups, network ACLs, route tables, and public connectivity.
2. Application Load Balancer Returns Errors
Identify the HTTP status code first. Then investigate target health, listener rules, target group configuration, and application logs.
3. IAM User Receives AccessDenied
Review identity-based policies, resource policies, explicit deny statements, permissions boundaries, and AWS Organizations service control policies.
