Motivations
I have joined dev.to to jump back into writing about what I love.
I used to write quite often. Writing was a way of life for me. After all, I was a English major in college. I would write, write, write all day everyday. I could crank out 20+ pages of content in a single evening.
Fast forward almost 10 years, a couple job transitions, and 1 career change, I have not written for the sake of writing in likely 8 years. This is the first step in moving back into my head. Writing down the twisted vine of thoughts that sneak around in my head when trying to relax.
My career has changed a lot in the last 10 years. I plan on exploring how I got here in hopes of inspiring others to do the same. I learned things I never thought was possible for a writing girl.
Topics I plan to explore:
- Moving from Technical Writing into coding.
- Is a master's degree in technology worth it?
- Learning JavaScript, Java, Python, ACL, XSLT, XML
- Imposter syndrome in the tech world
- Cloud computing with AWS
- Learning Linux
- Are certifications worth it?
- Development in the aviation publication industry
Looking forward to writing and reading with you.
