When I first started building Fix-It Fast AI, I assumed the hardest part would be creating the AI.
I was wrong.
The hardest part turned out to be teaching search engines that my website existed.
Like many first-time founders, I thought publishing a few articles would be enough. It wasn’t.
Google doesn’t immediately trust a brand-new website. It wants to see consistency, quality, and signs that a site continues to grow over time.
So I kept writing.
One troubleshooting article became ten.
Ten became one hundred.
Eventually, I crossed 1,000 troubleshooting articles covering appliances, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical problems, flooring, doors, windows, and general home maintenance.
Something interesting happened after that.
Instead of waiting weeks between indexing updates, Google began discovering and indexing new pages more regularly.
The number of search impressions slowly started climbing.
No viral moment.
No overnight success.
Just steady progress.
The Biggest Lesson
Building a knowledge base isn’t just about writing articles.
It’s about answering real questions.
People don’t usually search for product names.
They search for problems.
- “Why won’t my refrigerator cool?”
- “Why does my smoke detector keep chirping?”
- “Why is my dishwasher leaving white residue?”
Every article becomes another opportunity to help someone solve a problem.
SEO Isn’t Magic
There are thousands of videos promising instant rankings.
In reality, SEO feels much more like planting a tree.
You water it.
You take care of it.
You wait.
Eventually, it starts growing on its own.
That growth doesn’t happen because of one perfect article.
It happens because hundreds of useful pages begin working together.
AI Still Needs Good Information
One thing building Fix-It Fast AI reinforced is that artificial intelligence is only as useful as the information behind it.
A good AI assistant doesn’t just generate answers.
It should point people toward practical, understandable solutions.
That’s why I continue expanding the troubleshooting library alongside the AI itself.
The knowledge base and the AI improve together.
Still a Long Road Ahead
I’m still learning.
I’m still improving the app.
I’m still publishing new content.
Every new indexed page is another chance for someone to discover the project.
If you’re building your own startup, don’t get discouraged if the first few months feel slow.
Search engines reward consistency.
Users reward usefulness.
And sometimes the biggest wins come one article at a time.
