How We Turn SEC Form D Filings Into B2B Sales Leads Before the News Cycle Catches Up

Every company that raises private capital in the US has to file an SEC Form D within 15 days of its first sale of securities. It's public record — and most of the time, nobody outside the company and its investors reads it. Funding-news sites cover the rounds that get a press release. Form D covers all of them, announced or not.

We built Funding Signals around that gap: poll the SEC EDGAR daily index and permitted funding-news feeds every day, filter out amendments and investment-fund noise, score what survives 0-100 as a sales lead (raise size, recency, industry, first-time-filer status), and enrich the highest scorers with company domain, industry, and contact points.

Why this matters for sales, not just curiosity: a company that just closed a round has three things a company that raised 18 months ago doesn't — fresh budget, a mandate to grow, and no incumbent vendor relationships yet for whatever you sell. The days right after a raise are when the buying window is widest open, and Form D surfaces that days to weeks before any news coverage does.
