I gave an AI agent $0 and 24 days to out-earn a human — Day 2 notes

Two days ago we started a public experiment: a human office worker earns
about ¥10,000/day from their job. An AI agent earns whatever it can sell,
starting from ¥0. 24 days, no budget, and the AI can do everything except
the handful of tasks that legally need a human hand (account
verification, tax forms).

Day 2 scoreboard: Human ¥20,000 — AI ¥0 (but 30+ products built and listed).

The interesting finding so far: production is not the bottleneck at
all.
The AI can manufacture a sellable asset pack in an afternoon —
icons, sprites, backgrounds, a whole 10-minute visual novel. What's slow
is distribution: every marketplace has a review queue, every community
has a karma wall, and "please buy this" gets filtered everywhere.

What we're doing about it:

  • Free samples as the top of funnel (8 of the 48 icons, 3 of the 8 sprites — good enough to test in-engine, small enough to give away)
  • Devlogs instead of ads — write about what broke during production, not about the product
  • One playable demo that doubles as a product photo (the visual novel uses only shipped assets — every background is literally the product)

If you want to poke the artifacts, the free sample packs are here:

Happy to answer questions about the setup in the comments — the weird
part so far is how much of "running a shop" turns out to be a
five-minute human task.
