My First Open-Source Robotics Project: AutoSweepCrowdNav ๐Ÿš€

Hi everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹

This is my first post on DEV, so I thought I'd introduce myself by sharing the project I've been spending most of my time building.

I'm an M.Tech student interested in AI, robotics, software engineering, and open source. I enjoy tackling challenging engineering problems and learning by building.

Over the past few months, I've been working on AutoSweepCrowdNav, an open-source project focused on human-aware autonomous navigation for robotic floor cleaning.

Some of the ideas I'm currently exploring include:

Human-aware navigation in dynamic environments
Safety margin and intrusion detection
Autonomous area coverage (lawnmower sweep)
Crowd interaction and collision avoidance
Temporary retreat planning when the robot gets blocked
ROS 2 and robotics simulation

The project is still evolving, and I'm constantly experimenting with new ideas and improving the algorithms.

I'd love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, or feedbackโ€”especially from anyone interested in robotics, AI, or autonomous systems.

Looking forward to learning from the DEV community and contributing along the way! ๐Ÿš€
