Best practice for large docker images?

I need to build a docker image and copy a folder (around 20 Gb) in it.
Unfortunately volume mount is not an option.
Would be thankful for any suggestion, links and best practices.

Thanks for link. Blog post include nice tips, but anything valuable about big size files to be copied in image.
