Poker in Place

Released my project to the public today. It's called Poker in Place and is a live poker experience with Twilio Video. The idea is to replace the feeling of house games with video while we're stuck at home.

Check it out https://pokerinplace.app/ - Any feedback welcomed and source code coming soon.

sick app dude! Twiliio makes integrating video conferencing so much easier. any chance we can take a look at the source? I am curious how you implemented the backend. I am curious how far you got in terms of hiding unaurthorize state of the poker game from the client.

Hey Sitian,

I'll open up the source in a day or so. I accidentally leaked a key before, so want to make sure I don't this time!

As for the state, I used Firebase/Firestore and rules around collections/sub-collections to allow access to certain documents (player cards) to only the player themself.

Good job on the access control! It's amazing you did all that given the nature of it being a hack project! If I had only a few hours to spare, I might have just set up the poker state on the client side for the MVP.

I never cared about his concept, but it's really very boring to play on poker alone, here you can talk to them and see them, that keeps the game alive. You released a really interesting game. In addition, if you have enough actual poker experience to guess if they're bluffing just by looking at the camera. So, I can tell you did a really good job and you're a very genius guy. I can recommend this idea to guys from freeplaypokies

Great idea for our tough times. It would be nice to add details that create a coherent picture. However, I liked it. The guys casinogamer.net/ have a similar idea.
