Unexpected Delight
By chance, I discovered that ServBay, the development tool I regularly use, has been updated! As a developer, I usually approach tool updates with a "hmm, let's see what bugs they fixed" mindset. To my surprise, this new version of ServBay now supports Ollama!
What is Ollama? Simply put, it's a tool focused on running Large Language Models (LLMs) locally, supporting well-known AI models like DeepSeek-r1, llama, solar, qwen, and many others. Sounds sophisticated, right? However, using Ollama before was a nightmare for perfectionists: configuring environment variables, installing dependencies, dealing with command-line operations...
But now, with ServBay, all these complicated procedures have been simplified into a single button! That's right - with just one click, you can install and launch the AI model you need. Environment variables? Gone. Configuration files? ServBay handles it all for you. Even if you're a complete novice with no development experience, you can easily get started.
One-Click Launch, Lightning Speed
I gave it a try, and ServBay's Ollama integration isn't just simple - it's incredibly fast! On my computer, the model download speed even exceeded 60MB per second. You should know that Ollama's native download speed can be quite unstable, dropping to just tens of kb/s 99% of the time, but ServBay left all that in the dust.
What's even more impressive is that ServBay supports multi-threaded downloads and one-click launch of multiple AI models. As long as your macOS has enough power, running several models simultaneously is no problem at all. Just imagine being able to run DeepSeek, llama, and solar all at once, switching between them at will - that's peak efficiency!
DeepSeek Freedom at Your Fingertips
Through ServBay and Ollama, I've finally achieved DeepSeek freedom!
In the past, I always thought deploying AI models locally was a high-barrier operation that only professional developers could handle. But ServBay's arrival has completely changed all that! It not only simplifies complex operations but also allows ordinary users to easily experience the joy of running AI models locally.
Look! I've achieved DeepSeek freedom through ServBay~
