Announcing: The Relicans Summer Camp 🏕️

The TheRelicans.com is a welcoming, inclusive community of developers, educators and creators, with one mission: Teach the world to code!

With this goal in mind, we’re big fans of creating content around tech — from tutorials to discussions to waxing poetic about Ruby, we talk about it all.

These days, many developers are self-taught from online resources, and who among us has not Googled a tutorial for a difficult-to-solve problem? We all make use of these resources, and for many of us, seeing devs we can relate to sharing their coding experiences is part of our entry into tech.

Coding is a specific skill, but creating content around technical topics is another skill entirely. Many developers we’ve talked to want to share their own knowledge to give back what they’ve learned to the community and help better their own understanding by teaching, but it can be hard to get started.

The Relicans Summer Camp

This is where The Relicans Summer Camp comes in!

We want to help aspiring content creators level up their skills. To do this, we’re hosting a month-long series of challenges to help you take the first steps. The challenges are geared toward total beginners, but anyone is welcome to join and expand their content abilities.

Wondering how to write blogs? We got you. Want to start speaking at conferences or launch a YouTube channel? Well, we got you covered there as well.

Join us for the following topics:

  1. YouTube — July 5-9 hosted by Chris & Ali
  2. Open Source — July 12-16 hosted by Chael & Kirk
  3. Writing — July 19-23 hosted by Mia & Pachi
  4. Public Speaking — July 26-30 hosted by Aisha & Aaron

How to Join

Each week, we will post a challenge on Monday, then host a livestream at 10am Pacific (1pm Eastern) on Tuesday around that week’s topic, on our Twitch channel.
By completing the challenge, you will have created something that you can continue to build on and grow your skills as a content creator!

You can learn more on #RelicansSummerCamp— make sure you have an account on TheRelicans.com if you don’t already.

And of course, we’re here to support you!
Our instructors will be standing by to answer your questions each week, and don’t forget to join The Relicans Discord for more conversation.

Get ready, everyone. We start on Monday, July 5th!

This is a great community for developers, educators, and creators. Their goal is to teach the world to code. They create content about tech, including tutorials, discussions, and topics like Ruby. It’s a good place to learn and connect with others who are interested in coding. I would like to share my experience with palmspringspainters.net/ here as their painters helped me a lot to reshape my home.
