Hello all,
I'm a primary Music and Computing lead and teacher living in London, UK. I have also worked as a VFX Artist (mainly 2D), Video editor and as Sound Designer (I hold a M.Sc. in ICT of Audio and Video Production and Post-Production).
I'm looking to switch career from education to full time VFX (ideally as a VFX/CGI generalist), but I'm also considering a move to coding related jobs, as A.i. is catching up really fast in the VFX industry... Or maybe study and work in coding positions and then move to VFX in a development position, i.e. Pipeline Technical Director.
I understand that I need to study, but what would be the best path for me to follow, or which job would be easier for someone with my skills to transition too, for example programmer, cybersecurity, Front End developer? Alternatives?
As part of the school's curriculum, I'm teaching apart from others, Music technology, VFX and Web Design (Adobe XD, Dreamweaver), if that matters anyhow.
I would like to switch careers as I like the idea of working from home, and spending more time with my family, which due to my current work, unfortunately I don't.
Many thanks in advance for any information.
Kind regards,
Nik
