There are two types of programmers:
- Those who understand their code.
- Those who wrote something, ran it, saw “Success,” and decided not to touch anything ever again.
Unfortunately, I belong to the second group. Sometimes.
Programming has taught me an important lesson: confidence and competence are not always the same thing.
You write 15 lines of JavaScript. It doesn’t work.
You change one character.
Suddenly, everything works.
You have no idea what happened, but you’re too afraid to investigate.
Is this software engineering or witchcraft?
The real challenge is not making code work. It’s understanding WHY it works.
Until then, I will continue treating my successful code like a fragile ancient artifact.
If it works, don’t touch it.

Just kidding. Please write tests.
