Website AB Testing and Multivariate Testing.

In the digital marketing world, a customer is considered a king. A firm makes strenuous efforts in order to increase sales and revenue on their brand. What is the main motivation? Obviously, the customers. A company’s website is regularly optimized in order to generate more traffic to it. The business does it in order to analyze or reanalyze which version or element of a particular webpage is giving more traffic than the other. So, how does a firm do it? There are two alternate software tools to optimize the functionality of a website. One is A/B testing and the other one is Multivariate testing.

One often gets confused between the two. A/B testing is also referred to as split-testing. As the name suggests itself, you can have two different versions of a web page. Through A/B testing we can compare between the two, regarding which version is receiving more traffic. ‘
For example, your website has a home page or a landing page. Hence you can change the layout or design of your page or you can even change the headline but not in variations. So, you have limited functionality in A/B Testing. You can only have one thing changed at a time.

On the other hand, In Multivariate testing, you can take a few elements of a page. Following it, you can create variations for those elements. Whereas in A/B Testing we can only create a variation of a particular webpage.

Multivariate testing allows us to combine all the variations of specific elements. Thereon, you can test the unique version of the page. It simplifies the analysis of traffic generation for each page separately.

Another highlighted the difference between the two tools is their usage: A/B Testing is best used to test different ideas for conversion rate optimization. On the other hand, Multivariate testing is used to refine a landing page without investing in a redesign.

Both offer sound productivity to business growth. Either you can pick one or use both of them according to preferences.
