I run a small digital product store on Gumroad. Writing product descriptions, email copy, social posts, and buyer replies used to eat hours every week.
Then I stopped writing from scratch.
Here are 5 AI prompts I use with Claude (and ChatGPT) to handle most of my product copy in minutes, not hours. All of them are copy-paste ready.
1. Write a product listing that converts
You are a conversion copywriter. Write a product listing for a digital product called [PRODUCT NAME].
The product does: [what it does in one sentence]
Target buyer: [who buys it and why]
Price: [price]
Write:
- A headline (10 words max)
- A 3-sentence description that focuses on the outcome, not the features
- 5 bullet points starting with action verbs
- A one-line call to action
This takes 3 minutes and gives you a starting point for any Gumroad, Etsy, or Payhip listing.
2. Write a buyer reply (and never overthink it again)
A customer just purchased my digital product [PRODUCT NAME]. They sent this message:
"[paste the message]"
Write a friendly, helpful reply that:
- Acknowledges their question directly
- Answers it in 2-3 sentences
- Ends with one next step for them
Tone: warm and professional. Max 100 words.
I use this for every non-standard buyer message. Zero overthinking.
3. Write a review response
A customer left this review for my product:
"[paste review]"
Write a public response that:
- Thanks them genuinely (not sycophantically)
- Highlights one specific thing they mentioned
- Invites future buyers to try it
Max 50 words.
Public responses signal to buyers that you're responsive. This prompt keeps mine consistent.
4. Repurpose one product into social content
I sell [PRODUCT NAME] — [one sentence about what it does].
Write 3 social media posts I can use to promote it:
- 1 for LinkedIn (professional tone, 100 words max)
- 1 for Instagram caption (punchy, 50 words max)
- 1 for X/Twitter (hook first, 240 chars max)
Don't just describe the product. Lead with the problem it solves.
One product, three posts, five minutes.
5. Generate search tags that actually get discovered
My digital product is: [PRODUCT NAME]
What it does: [one sentence]
Target buyer: [who]
Generate 20 search tags I can use for this product on [Etsy / Gumroad / Payhip].
Focus on: what buyers search for, not just what the product is called.
Return as a comma-separated list.
Better tags = better organic discovery. This prompt consistently surfaces angles I miss.

If you're selling digital products and spending more than 30 minutes a week on copy, this is probably the fastest $17 you'll ever spend.
