Is every AI coding tool just another wrapper?

Let's be honest.

The AI coding space is getting crowded.

New tools appear every day with a chat box, an API connection, and a landing page promising to "revolutionize software development."

So here's my question:

What actually makes an AI development tool different?

For me, it shouldn't be the model.

Models change.

It shouldn't be the subscription.

It shouldn't be another chat interface.

The interesting part is the workflow around the model.

That's why I built NullCry around project-level development:

• Multiple files
• Existing projects
• Cross-file changes
• Project continuation
• Code repair
• Complete project generation

And instead of forcing developers into another AI ecosystem, NullCry lets them bring their own API key.

I'm not saying NullCry has figured everything out.

I'm saying the AI development market needs more products that solve real workflow problems — not just prettier chat boxes.

Prove me wrong.

What separates a real AI development tool from an AI wrapper?
