I'm Learning to Become a Cloud Engineer — Day 1

Hi, I'm Opeyemi Samuel, and I've decided to document my journey into Cloud Engineering publicly every step, every struggle, and every win.

My learning path starts with backend development, and today is literally Day 1 of learning Python.

Why Cloud Engineering?

Cloud is the backbone of modern software. I want to build the skills to deploy, manage, and scale applications in the cloud — and I know that starts with understanding how the backend works.

Why Python first?

Python is one of the most widely used languages in backend development and cloud automation (think AWS Lambda, scripts, APIs). It's beginner-friendly and powerful at the same time.

What I did today:

1. Set up my Python environment
2. Learned what Python is and why it matters
3. Wrote my first lines of code

What's next:

I'll be covering Python basics which are variables, data types, loops, and functions in the coming days.
