What do you expect from a Coding Community?

(check out my blog)

Hello everyone! πŸ‘‹

This post is intended for developers and for those who want to be developers. It's very long, but we're not on Twitter, right? 😊

As you probably don't know I run a free learning community for #FrontEnd developers with a special focus on #JavaScript. πŸ’»

It's called "CodeJourneys" , it has 400 members, was founded almost two years ago and is constantly evolving.

All events and workshops are always and will always be free.
Mentors and teachers work on a voluntary basis.

Lately the community has cooled down and not many learning sessions have taken place.
We had a lot of Kata-Challenges, Live Coding session, workshops, shared projects, talks about culture & dev life, etc. etc.

Now it's time to relaunch the community and the activities, that's why I need you for some brainstorming!

  1. πŸ’‘ What do you expect from a free learning community for Front-End Developers?
  2. πŸ’‘ Would you like to participate as a mentor? (give talk, host learning session / initiatives)
  3. πŸ’‘ Would you like to join it? (join us: https://lnkd.in/dvadMBdZ)

I'm considering the following initiatives:

  • Deep-dive learning sessions about a specific topic (every 2-3 weeks)
  • Virtual Book club
  • Weekly JS Kata Challenges + discussion group

Feel free to leave your feedback or any kind of idea/proposal.

Thank you very much for your time and support! πŸ™
