How to make your GitHub README stand out with one URL

Your GitHub README is the first thing people see when they open your project. Most of them look the same: a title, a few badges, some text.

Making something better usually means opening a design tool, exporting images, and redoing it every time your stats change. We got tired of that, so we built ReadmeFX.

Try it: https://readmefx.potenfyr.in/

What is ReadmeFX?

ReadmeFX is a collection of 56 live SVG generators for GitHub READMEs. Each one is a URL. You paste it into your README as an image, and it renders on the spot.

  • No account to create
  • No API key to manage
  • No build step or GitHub Action to set up

What can you make?

  • Stats cards
  • Contribution snake animations
  • Trophies
  • Charts
  • QR codes
  • ...and a lot more on the site

ReadmeFX generators

Quick start

Add it to your README like any other image, and replace {username} with your GitHub username:

![GitHub Stats Card](https://readmefx.potenfyr.in/stats?username={username}&showIcons=true&rank=true&animate=true&theme=midnight)
Enter fullscreen mode Exit fullscreen mode

You can change how the card looks through the URL parameters, like theme, showIcons, rank and animate. Because the output is SVG, it stays sharp on any screen.

It's still in beta

ReadmeFX is under active development, so you may run into bugs or things that don't look right. If you do, please tell us in the comments or email us at support@potenfyr.in.

We're also deciding which generators to build next. What's one thing you wish your README had?

Thanks for reading, and if you try it, drop your README link in the comments. We'd love to see it.
