What I Built
For the Frontend Challenge - Comfort Food Edition, I created RASAARA, a modern Indian restaurant landing page inspired by the comfort, warmth, and bold flavours of regional Indian food.
The idea was to take familiar dishes — samosas, curries, naan, biryani, chaat, kebabs, and desserts — and present them through a more modern, immersive digital experience.
Instead of creating a traditional restaurant website, I wanted the page to feel like walking into a warm, contemporary restaurant: rich food photography, bold typography, subtle motion, earthy colours, glassmorphism, and playful interactions.
The entire project is built as a standalone frontend, so there is no build setup required.

Journey
I started with a simple restaurant landing page, but while building it I realised that a food website shouldn't just list dishes — it should create an atmosphere.
That became the main design direction for RASAARA.
I experimented with a warm editorial-style visual system, combining Playfair Display with DM Sans, rounded glassmorphism elements, food photography, earthy tones, and orange/gold accents.
One of the things I particularly wanted to improve was the interaction design. Instead of having a static menu, I added category filtering so visitors can quickly explore different types of food. I also added a dark mode that remembers the user's preference using localStorage.
The biggest lesson for me was that a good landing page isn't only about making things look beautiful. The hierarchy, spacing, interaction, responsiveness, and small details all work together to make the experience feel intentional.
I'm particularly proud of how the final version evolved from a simple restaurant concept into a more complete visual experience.
