but i still updated and added few more things 👀
as yesterday i announced that soon partnership program is going to launch...
AND IT'S LAUNCHED!! 🎉🎉
you can go on crowdwide, enter your details and that's it
it will be human reviewed and it has very basic requirements for now
it doesn't demand a lot of traffic or very high engagement for now. it's very simple, so if you're interested, just apply and it will be reviewed!!
now let's talk about some other updates...
first, the feed algorithm!!
i've improved how the "for you" feed works
now, posts you've already opened recently will rank lower, so you don't keep seeing the same posts again and again
also, engagement rate now matters a little more. posts getting likes and comments compared to their views can get a small boost, but it's smoothed so a post with just one view and one like doesn't suddenly look like the best post ever... lol
another thing is topic variety!!
the same topic won't keep appearing back to back when other posts are available. this should make the feed feel less repetitive
and your recent activity now matters more than your old activity. your latest likes, reactions and views help shape what you're interested in, so the feed can keep up when your interests change
and don't worry, the discovery mix and new-voice boosts are still there. crowdwide is still trying to give new posts and smaller creators a fair chance instead of letting popularity decide everything!!
now the dashboard communities panel!!
previously, the communities panel could show communities you had already joined or even private communities
now it's called "Communities for you" and it recommends 5 public communities you haven't joined or created yet!!
the recommendations use your interests, the hashtags you follow, likes, saves, comments, searches, the topics you picked during onboarding, and the hashtags and categories of each community
even a community's name and description can help it match your interests
i've also kept popularity and new-community boosts small, so bigger communities don't always win
and if there aren't 5 matching communities available, the remaining spots get filled with popular public communities, so the panel doesn't stay empty
basically, the goal is to help you discover communities that actually match your interests instead of just showing you the biggest ones!!
and one small update!!
crowdwide now has an official instagram link in the footer next to github. it works across all 5 themes too!!

so yeah, that's what i've been working on!!
the feed tests are still passing, and i've added 6 new tests for the updated feed and community recommendation logic
always good to make changes without breaking the things that were already working... lol 😭
and after all this... i have no plan what to do next... lol
