PureHub v1.0.0‑beta.59 – Security‑first Android utilities

PureHub continues its mission of providing 26 free, no‑ads, privacy‑first, open‑source utility tools for Android. This beta release focuses on modernizing security and Wi‑Fi handling while keeping your existing data intact.

What’s New

  • Secure local storage – Authenticator, Password Vault, Lunar reminders, and router credentials now encrypted with AES‑256‑GCM keys managed by the Android Keystore.
  • Non‑destructive migration – One‑time migration from legacy encrypted preferences; old files stay available for rollback.
  • Improved Wi‑Fi API – Switched to NetworkCapabilities and LinkProperties; updated SSID handling for Android 13+ with fallback for older devices.
  • BiometricPrompt – Replaces the deprecated credential‑confirmation intent, supporting strong biometrics or device credentials.

Security Improvements

  • Concurrency protection around key creation and on‑device encryption tests.
  • Migration now retries after read failures instead of marking data as migrated.

Android Platform Updates

  • Deprecated Wi‑Fi connection APIs removed.
  • Compatibility path retained for devices below Android 13.

Verification

  • All unit tests, lint checks, and APK size checks passed.
  • 15 physical‑device instrumentation tests succeeded, covering keystore encryption, migration, and navigation.
