I built AppBuilder AI because I kept running into the same problem: having an app idea is easy, but deciding what to build first is hard.
A blank chat box can help you brainstorm, but it does not naturally turn an idea into a product plan you can actually act on. I wanted a workspace that helps structure the messy early stage.
What the app does
You describe an app idea, then AppBuilder AI helps turn it into a plan that covers:
- product strategy and the core problem
- user experience and flows
- engineering direction
- launch and growth ideas
- risks and quality checks
The goal is not to replace the builder. It is to make the first step less overwhelming and give people something clearer to react to.
What I built it with
The app uses Next.js and TypeScript for the web app, Supabase for authentication and data, and AI providers for the planning workflow. I also added email/password login plus Google and GitHub sign-in, so people can try it without a complicated setup.
The biggest lesson
The hard part was not getting an AI response on screen. The hard part was making the response useful enough that someone could take the next step.
That pushed me to focus less on “make it sound smart” and more on questions like:
- Does this help someone make a decision?
- Does it explain what to build next?
- Can a non-technical person understand it?
- What is missing or risky?
