How we handled generating 100+ styled QR codes and packaging them into a ZIP entirely in the browser.
Have you ever needed to generate 50 QR codes for event badges, or 100 codes for a marketing campaign?
Most tools require you to create an account, upload your data to their server, and generate them one by one. That's slow, frustrating, and a privacy nightmare.
We wanted to build something better: a 100% client-side Batch QR Generator.
Here's a look at what we built and how it handles scale without touching a backend.
The Workflow
- Input: Paste a list of URLs, upload a CSV, or use manual entry.
- Style: Apply a unified design (colors, eye markers, logo) to every QR code in the batch simultaneously.
- Generate: Click one button to render up to 100 unique styled QR codes.
-
Export: Bundle all the QR codes into a single
.zipfile or download a print-ready PDF.
The Technical Challenge: Client-Side Scaling
Generating one QR code in the browser is easy. Generating 100+ high-resolution styled QR codes, rendering them to canvas, and packaging them into a ZIP file without freezing the UI requires a bit of care.
We utilized:
-
qr-code-stylingfor generating the vector and raster outputs. -
jszipandfile-saverto package the outputs directly in memory. - Asynchronous processing to ensure the browser UI doesn't lock up while processing the batch.
No servers. No data limits. Just pure client-side speed.
Why Client-Side Matters
When you're generating QR codes for a business, your data (URLs, text payloads, UTM parameters) is often sensitive. By keeping the entire process in the browser, your data never leaves your machine.
Try It Out
You can test the tool right now. It's free forever, requires no login, and has no ads.
