According to DevTools Review's hands-on testing across 11 AI coding tools, our Cody pricing page is currently wrong about what you can buy. It describes "Free," "Pro (Free, expanded)," and "Enterprise ($49/user/month)" as three live tiers anyone can sign up for today. Two of those three don't exist anymore, and the third number isn't one Sourcegraph has confirmed.
What the page still says
The page (live now) has a full comparison table with Free and Pro both priced at "$0," a "Who Should Pick Which Plan" section that tells individual developers and students to start on Free, and an FAQ answer stating flatly: "Yes. Cody Free requires no API keys and no payment. You install the VS Code or JetBrains extension, create a Sourcegraph account, and start using it." The Enterprise section prices things at exactly $49/user/month throughout, including a "$490/month for a team of 10" calculation.
What actually happened
Sourcegraph discontinued Cody Free and Cody Pro. New signups stopped on 25 June 2025, existing access ended on 23 July 2025, and individual developers were pointed at Sourcegraph's other product, Amp, instead. Cody has been enterprise-only for over a year. This isn't a rumor — it's Sourcegraph's own changelog announcement, and it's already reflected in our own site's pricing data layer; the review page just never caught up.
The $49/user/month Enterprise figure is also not something we can stand behind. Sourcegraph's current pricing page lists Enterprise as custom, contact-sales pricing with no published number — so "$49" is a stale figure from before the change, not a corrected one we're swapping in. We're not replacing it with a different specific price either, because no honest single number exists to quote.
Why this matters
This isn't a rounding error on one line. The page's entire structure — three tiers, a comparison table, a "which plan should you pick" flowchart aimed partly at individual developers and students — describes a product Sourcegraph doesn't sell anymore. Anyone landing on this page today to decide whether to try Cody for free will hit a dead end that isn't mentioned anywhere on the page.
What we're not doing here
Fixing the source page itself is a separate process on our end — this post exists to flag the gap honestly rather than let a stale page keep circulating unchallenged. If you're evaluating Cody today: it's enterprise-only, pricing is a custom quote from Sourcegraph, and if you want a free individual tool from the same company, ask about Amp instead.
