A week ago, I challenged myself to build a collection of free online tools from scratch.
Today, I'm excited to share the first version of ToolEka 🎉
The idea wasn't to create another generic calculator website. I wanted to build a platform that is fast, simple, mobile-friendly, and actually useful.
🛠️ Tech Stack
- Next.js

- Tailwind CSS
- TypeScript
- Cloudflare Workers
- Cloudflare R2
I chose Cloudflare Workers because I wanted global performance with minimal infrastructure management.
✨ What's Available Right Now?
The first release includes 14+ free tools, including:
- Health calculators
- Finance calculators
- Developer utilities
- Text tools
Every tool is designed to work instantly without requiring an account.
💡 Why I Built It
While searching for online tools, I noticed that many websites are:
- Slow to load
- Filled with intrusive ads
- Not optimized for mobile devices
- Cluttered with unnecessary features
I wanted to build something that focused on speed, simplicity, and usability.
🚧 Challenges Along the Way
Building the project in one week wasn't easy.
Some of the biggest challenges included:
- Deploying Next.js on Cloudflare Workers
- Optimizing performance and Core Web Vitals
- Adding SEO metadata and structured data
- Making every page responsive
- Building reusable components for future tools
Each challenge helped me learn something new.
