Confused About Choosing My Career Path: Java or Full-Stack JavaScript?

Hi everyone,

I'm a fresher B.Tech graduate. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to land a job during campus placements, so after graduation I decided to seriously learn software development.

Over the past year, I've become comfortable with:

Java
Spring Boot
REST APIs
Databases (SQL)
Backend development concepts

Recently, I completed an internship, but now I'm back to searching for a full-time job.

To improve my chances, I'm considering joining AlmaBetter's Full Stack Developer with AI program. They claim to provide placement assistance and prepare students for software engineering roles.

However, the course primarily teaches:

JavaScript
React
Node.js
Express
MongoDB
Basic Python
AI-related concepts

This has left me confused.

I've already invested a lot of time learning Java and Spring Boot. If I join this course, I'll be switching to an entirely JavaScript-based ecosystem.

So I'm wondering:

Should I continue focusing on Java and Spring Boot?
Should I switch completely to JavaScript and become a MERN/full-stack developer?
Is it practical to learn both? If yes, how should I divide my time?
From the current industry perspective, which path offers better opportunities for someone trying to get their first software engineering job?

I'm not looking for shortcuts—I just want to make a smart decision instead of constantly jumping between technologies.

I'd really appreciate advice from experienced developers or anyone who has faced a similar situation.
