Turning Database Schemas into Diagrams & Docs — Open for Early Feedback

Databases are one of those things that every dev touches but very few are comfortable explaining — especially when you inherit a project or join a new team.

Between outdated ER diagrams, missing docs, and tribal knowledge passed over Slack, understanding a schema can feel like a scavenger hunt.

I’m building something to change that.

I just shared this over on LinkedIn (feel free to check it out and leave a comment if you want to see the convo):

What I’m Building

The idea is simple but solves a real pain point for backend developers:

Paste your database schema (SQL / Prisma / DDL)

Instantly get:

Interactive ER diagrams

Plain-English schema explanations

Living documentation

Version history

Change tracking

No live database access. No credentials. Just schema → clarity.

Your code already is the source of truth — why shouldn’t the documentation match it automatically?

Who This Helps

This tool is built for:

Backend engineers working with complex schemas

Teams onboarding new developers

Freelancers and agencies documenting client projects

Anyone who dreads reading a giant DDL file

Why I’m Sharing This

I’m building Vizora in public and want feedback from developers who actually deal with schemas day-to-day. Before locking in features or pricing, I’d love to hear:

What frustrates you about schema documentation?

What tools do you currently use (if any)?

What would make your life easier?

If this sounds like something worth giving feedback on — or if you want early access — drop a comment here or over on LinkedIn.

Thanks for reading!
