Unique problems should have unique solutions

Following on from my last byte of wisdom...When looking at a problem, think of what is different and unique about this problem, instead of trying to match the problem at hand with something you've done before. This will bring an innovative perspective. You might be able to reuse some old thinking but ultimately you'll come up with a much better solution.

Heads up: As with any terse bit of advice, there will be exceptions of course, and subtleties and nuance that can't possibly be captured in a Byte of Wisdom. This has been what I've experienced, I'd love to hear yours in the comments too!
