Before I let any AI coding agent touch my machine, I do one thing: give it its own drive letter.
The 5-minute setup
- Create a folder for the agent workspace
- Map it to a drive letter
- Point the agent at that drive
- Start working
Tools
- Local folder mapping: subst.scsoi.com
- WebDAV/cloud mapping: drive.scsoi.com
Why first?
Because the first time an agent runs rm -rf, you want it to be confined to its own drive, not your home folder.
Set up the sandbox before you set up the agent.
