Tools are on lease.
The framework, the language, the model —
you're renting all of it,
and the rent changes every year.
So don't build your identity
on the thing you're renting.
Build it on the problem you own:
the domain, the users,
the reason the work exists.
Engineers who married one tool
panic every time the industry moves.
Engineers who own the problem
just pick up the next tool
and keep going.
Learn the shiny thing. Use it well.
Then hold it loosely,
because a better one is already coming
and the problem isn't going anywhere.
