Sources of Conviction, in Building LiveAPI

Hello, I'm Shrijith. I'm building git-lrc, an AI code reviewer that runs on every commit. It is free, unlimited, and source-available on Github. Star Us to help devs discover the project. Do give it a try and share your feedback for improving the product.

We are a small team of passionate engineers, working on for the past six months or so.

We have overcome numerous challenges over time: betting on new technology, proving it through R&D efforts, conceptualizing the product, simplifying user flows to their bare essentials, figuring out how to explain and present the product to the world, and solving broken payment gateway connections.

Despite the massive number of challenges thrown our way, we've maintained a sharp focus on delivering value to engineering organizations across the world.

On reflection, here is a list of things that keep us goingβ€”or, as I like to put it, our Sources of Conviction:

  • We are solving an old problem in a new way.
  • Our approach cuts down days of effort to mere minutes.
  • We are bootstrapped, and our goal is to build the most convenient API documentation generator for customers. We are 100% focused on benefiting the customer.
  • Our organization, Hexmos, has built a culture of responsibility, commitment, and excellence over the past four years.
  • The team is young but, in many ways, wiser beyond its (median) age thanks to heavy investments in daily reflection, reading, and hands-on learning. Customers benefit from the energy of a young team combined with the values of a more experienced one.
  • We are riding the wave of interest in "let's see what AI can do" happening around the world. While the timing may not be perfect, it is undoubtedly favorable.
  • All of our team members are engineers themselves, committed to solving a problem that impacts their own day-to-day lives. We have put effort into understanding both the market and ourselves to clarify our stance on pricing. We won't rely on open source to sustain us; instead, we aim to provide a great product and humbly request fair compensation for our work. We are the first to take the initiative of applying AI to the documentation generation problem. We are willing to learn, listen, and adapt as market conditions change.

These are my thoughts on why we believe in LiveAPI and its potential to improve the lives of engineering organizations worldwide.

git-lrc
*AI agents write code fast. They also silently remove logic, change behavior, and introduce bugs -- without telling you. You often find out in production.

git-lrc fixes this. It hooks into git commit and reviews every diff before it lands. 60-second setup. Completely free.*

Any feedback or contributors are welcome! It's online, source-available, and ready for anyone to use.

Why

  • πŸ€– AI agents silently break things. Code removed. Logic changed. Edge cases gone. You won't notice until production.
  • πŸ” Catch it before it ships. AI-powered inline comments show you exactly what changed and what looks wrong.
  • πŸ” Build a habit, ship better code. Regular review β†’ fewer bugs β†’ more robust code β†’ better results in your team.
  • πŸ”— Why git? Git is universal. Every editor, every IDE, every AI…
