AI Career Guardian – How I Used AI to Guide Girls Toward Their Dream Careers
Assalamualaikum and hello everyone 👋
I'm Sobia Liaqat, a solo developer and freelancer from Pakistan 🇵🇰, and I want to share something close to my heart: AI Career Guardian — a project I built for the Code with Kiro Hackathon. It’s a simple, AI-powered app that aims to guide girls (especially in underserved areas) toward career paths they may not even know exist.
💡 The Inspiration
Main aksar sochti thi: "Agar mujhe ye sab pehle koi batata, toh shayad meri journey aur aasaan hoti."
I grew up watching brilliant girls stop dreaming because there was no one to guide them. No roadmap. No support. And definitely no Urdu chatbot to encourage them.
That’s where the idea came from. I asked myself:
“What if I use AI to become the career counselor these girls never had?”
🚀 What I Built
AI Career Guardian is a web app that:
- Collects basic info: education, interests, location
- Suggests 3 career paths using AI matching
- Provides learning roadmaps and free online resources
- Recommends remote freelance platforms (like Fiverr or Upwork)
- Includes a chatbot that speaks in Urdu for accessibility and motivation
Yeh app kisi bhi ladki ko career ka clear raasta dikha sakta hai — even if she’s never used a computer before.
🛠️ How I Used Kiro IDE
This was my first time using an AI IDE, and honestly — I didn’t expect it to be this helpful.
I wrote simple, human-readable specs like:
“Ask the user for education and interests.”
“Generate 3 career suggestions with links to free learning resources.”
“Display Urdu support in chatbot.”
Kiro took that and generated the backend logic and frontend code structure — saving me hours and boosting my confidence.

📚 What I Learned
This project taught me:
- How to talk to AI as a coding partner

- How to design with empathy — keeping real users in mind
- That purposeful tech is the most powerful kind
✨ My Vision
I don’t want this to stay just a demo. I want:
- To launch it with real Urdu chatbot support
- Add real-time freelancing job recommendations
- Partner with NGOs or schools
- Help 1,000+ girls find direction, not confusion
