I Cleared Google L5 SDE Interviews — Now Waiting for Team Matching. Any Advice?

Cleared Google L5 SDE Interviews, but No Team Match Yet — Need Advice

Hi everyone,

I recently cleared the Google L5 Software Engineer interview process, but I have been waiting for team matching for about one month now.

My recruiter says he is trying to find a matching team, but I have not had any team matching calls yet. I am from India, and I am trying to understand if there is anything I should do from my side during this stage.

My background is mainly full-stack engineering. I have worked mostly on web frontend, backend systems, DevOps, and some MLOps-related work. I am open to teams where this experience can be useful.

I would really appreciate advice from people who have gone through Google team matching, especially for L5 roles:

• Is it normal to wait this long?
• Should I proactively share a short profile summary with my recruiter?
• How can I position myself better for matching?
• Should I mention that I am open to frontend, backend, full-stack, DevOps, or platform teams?
• Are there any mistakes I should avoid while waiting?

One request: please do not ask me to share interview questions. I cannot share them because that would violate Google’s interview confidentiality policy. Also, Google will most likely not ask the exact same questions again.

I am only looking for general team matching advice, process tips, and guidance.
