Milestone Emails: Tell the Merchant the Moment It Pays for Itself

Recovery software has a reporting problem: the value arrives as a slow drip of individual saves, each one small enough to ignore, while the invoice for the tool itself arrives all at once. Merchants do not churn off tools they know are paying. They churn off tools whose value they have to go looking for.

So the value has to come to them, at the moments it becomes undeniable. Swipe Again sends exactly two milestone emails. The first fires when recovered revenue crosses $100 during the trial — early, while the day-15 charge is still ahead, so the merchant meets the bill having already seen the tool earn. The second fires when recovery crosses $179, the full monthly price: the moment the subscription has paid for itself and everything after it is margin.

The discipline is in the restraint. Each milestone fires once per merchant, ever. If both thresholds cross at the same moment, only the $179 email sends — the bigger fact absorbs the smaller one. There are no weekly digests, no "you saved $4.12!" confetti, no engagement theatre. Two emails, each carrying a number the merchant can check against their own platform, each arriving only when it is true.

Every vendor claims ROI; the claim is cheap because checking is work. A milestone email removes the work — it is the flat-fee page reporting itself at the two moments a merchant would naturally ask "is this worth it?" Software that answers that question unprompted, with receipts, gets renewed. Software that waits to be asked gets a dashboard nobody opens and a cancellation nobody explains.
