Dashboards love totals. But the metric that quietly decides whether a subscription business keeps its customers is a duration: how long a failed payment stays failed. Every day in that gap is a day the customer reconsiders, replaces, or simply forgets the service — and a day the next renewal sits at risk.
Shortening the gap is mostly unglamorous work. Messages that go out while the failure is still news. Update pages that take ninety seconds instead of nine minutes. Retries placed where the reason says they belong. None of it announces itself; all of it compounds.
Swipe Again reports time-to-recover alongside totals for exactly this reason, on every platform down to its Paddle recovery — because a recovery on day two and a recovery on day twenty are not the same save.
