Swipe Again for Swipe Again

Retries Have a Budget

Every retry costs something small: a processing attempt, a line in the customer's statement history, a little of the bank's patience. Spend retries carelessly and the account looks noisy; spend none and recoverable revenue walks away. The craft is a budget — a ceiling per failed payment, held no matter how hopeful the next attempt feels.

A budget also forces honesty about order. If only a handful of attempts exist, they belong at the moments most likely to succeed: after payday for a funds decline, after the update link lands for an expired card, after the weather clears for a processing error. Hope is not a scheduling strategy; sequence is.

Swipe Again works inside a fixed attempt budget on every platform it conducts, including its Chargebee recovery — the ceiling is part of the design, not an afterthought.
