Most browser automation tools are good at replaying one workflow in one product stack.
That is useful, but it is also limiting.
I wanted something more portable: record a workflow once, extract the steps into a reusable SKILL.md, and let different agents use it later.
That is why I built SkillForge.
The problem with “watch this Loom and figure it out”
A lot of team knowledge still lives in screen recordings, SOP docs nobody updates, and one operator who knows the exact clicks.
That breaks fast.
- New teammates improvise steps
- AI agents get vague instructions instead of structured workflows
- Browser automations become brittle and tool-specific
- The same process gets re-explained over and over
A recording is evidence, but it is not yet reusable operational knowledge.
What SkillForge does differently
SkillForge turns a screen recording into a structured skill that can be reused.
The key idea is simple:
Record your screen → AI extracts a reusable SKILL.md → any AI agent can replay it
That matters because the output is not trapped in one no-code automation runtime.
Instead of creating a one-off macro, you get a portable artifact that can be used by agent systems like:

- other agent stacks that can read structured instructions
Why portability matters
The AI tooling ecosystem is fragmenting in a good way. People are mixing coding agents, browser agents, workflow tools, and custom internal automation.
In that world, the winning artifact is not just an execution trace.
It is a workflow representation that can travel.
That is the bet behind SkillForge.
Instead of saying “this automation only works here,” the goal is to make browser knowledge portable across agents and teams.

SkillForge is especially useful for:

What I think is missing in agent tooling
We have plenty of tools for prompting agents.
We have fewer tools for turning observed human workflows into reusable agent-native assets.
That gap is where SkillForge lives.
I do not think the future is one giant automation platform that owns every step.
I think the future is:
- capture once
- structure the workflow
- reuse it anywhere
- improve it over time
