A puzzle companion has two different audiences: players who want a small clue, and players who are ready to see an answer. Putting both on one screen can spoil the experience for the first group.
I built Krillion Hint, an independent companion for Krillion’s Daily Dive. The interface keeps clues separate from answers and explains what the published scores cover.
Separate hints from answers
Hint pages provide two progressive clues for each published prompt. The first points in a direction; the second narrows the possibilities. Answers, tiers and points stay on separate answer pages, with clearly marked spoiler links.
Label spoiler links before users follow them, so they can decide how much help they want. Visual hiding controls how a hint appears; it provides no access control.
What a verified answer means
Published answers are checked by submitting them to the official game. The site records the returned tier and points. Each published prompt leads with the highest-scoring answer the site has verified for that date, plus up to two verified alternatives worth 85 points or more where available.
The site has not tested every accepted answer. A pick below 100 points may have higher-scoring alternatives. Explanations and reference links provide context where available, but the official game result is the basis for the published score.
What the score summary measures
The summary adds one top pick per ready prompt. There are seven daily prompts, so the full total is out of 700 points. The visual depth uses ten metres per point.
The total describes the published answer combination, not a player's personal score. The ready-prompt count shows whether it covers the whole dive.

Keep the dive date visible
Daily content becomes confusing when today's prompts and an archived page look interchangeable. Date navigation, prompt indexes, update timestamps and archives help readers identify the dive they are viewing. A countdown shows when the next dive starts.
Keep prompt identity and date visible in navigation and labels when designing a daily-content tool.
Copy an answer and return to the game
Copy buttons are on answer pages, where the reader has already chosen to view spoilers. Players can copy an answer and return to the official game. No signup is required.
The companion remains separate from gameplay. It is unofficial and is not affiliated with krillion.io.
How would you offer progressively stronger hints without accidentally revealing the answer?
