📰 My Newspaper-Inspired Portfolio: Where Code Meets Creativity 🎮
Hi everyone! 👋 I’m Talha Rizwan, a Full-Stack Web Developer passionate about building not just applications, but experiences.
When I was designing my personal portfolio, I didn’t want another cookie-cutter template. I wanted something unique, fun, and memorable — so I decided to build it like a newspaper 📰 … with a twist!
- 📰 The Concept
I asked myself: What if my skills, projects, and testimonials looked like daily news?
That thought gave birth to a portfolio styled as a digital newspaper, where each section resembles a different part of a classic paper:
Headlines & Features → My major projects & experience are presented as breaking news.
Stock Exchange → My skills are showcased like stock tickers, rising and falling as if they were tech shares.
Press Releases → Testimonials from colleagues, mentors, and clients appear as official newswire releases.
Editorials & Columns → I share blogs, thoughts, and learnings just like opinion pieces.
- 🎮 The Fun Part: Mini-Games
A portfolio shouldn’t just inform — it should engage.
That’s why I’ve embedded mini-games inside the portfolio, giving visitors a playful experience while exploring my work.
Some examples:
A quiz game about my skills & interests
Interactive UI animations hidden as “easter eggs”
Small challenges that unlock extra content
The goal: Make recruiters, clients, and fellow devs spend more time exploring — and enjoying!
- 💡 Why a Newspaper Theme?
Newspapers represent credibility, storytelling, and updates — the same qualities I wanted in my portfolio.
The metaphor allowed me to creatively map traditional portfolio sections into relatable formats.
Adding gamification keeps the experience lively, like a modern twist on an old medium.

I used a mix of modern web technologies to bring this concept to life:
Frontend: React + TailwindCSS for responsive, newspaper-like layouts
Animations & Games: JavaScript, Framer Motion, and Canvas-based mini-games
Hosting: Deployed on Vercel

I plan to:
Add a “Daily Weather Report” section powered by an API 🌤️
Introduce achievements & badges for visitors who complete mini-games 🏆
