Today, 5th July 2025, I was all set to attend a Mock Interview organized by Payilagam at 9 AM. The event was well-structured, featuring multiple rounds including:
- Aptitude
- Group Discussion
- Technical Round
- HR Round
I had prepared my updated CV hard copy, revised key concepts, and even practiced communication for the group discussion. Everything was ready. I was excited to test myself in a real interview-like setting.
However, just as I was preparing to join the session, there was a sudden power shutdown in my area.
Due to the lack of electricity and no internet backup, I was completely cut off and unable to attend. Despite being mentally ready and well-prepared, this unforeseen technical issue prevented me from participating.
What I Learned:
- Have a backup plan (like mobile hotspot, charged devices, or local backup options).
- Inform early – I quickly reached out to my mentor to explain the situation.
- Stay positive – One missed opportunity is not the end. It’s a part of the journey.
I was disappointed, but I reminded myself that setbacks are part of growth. I am thankful to Payilagam for organizing such a valuable event and hope to get another chance to participate soon.
Looking Ahead:
I'm using this experience as a reminder to be technically prepared for all scenarios and to remain flexible in the face of unexpected challenges. I will continue to prepare, stay consistent, and grab the next opportunity that comes my way.
“Every setback is a setup for a comeback.”
