With nearly 10 years of experience in the industry across startups, mid-scale firms, and multinational corporations, I have had the opportunity to sit on both sides of the interview table.
Recently, I've been reflecting on the "modern recruitment paradox." This isn't a critique of any individual or organization, but rather an observation of the "weird patterns" that have become commonplace:
- The unintentional "ghosting" that occurs despite everyone's best intentions.
- The structural irony of 90-day notice periods in an "immediate-joiner" market.
- The disconnect that can arise during final negotiations after weeks of mutual effort.
I believe that whether we are candidates, HR professionals, or technical leads, we all seek transparency, respect, and a process that values everyone's time.
I've compiled some thoughts on how we might bridge these gaps. While I don't have all the answers, I hope these reflections can spark a meaningful conversation within our community.
