119+ free online tools that run entirely in your browser
Hey dev.to π
I just launched ToolHive β a free collection of 119+ online tools for PDFs, images, videos, audio, and more. What makes it different: your files never leave your browser.
Why I built it
Every time I needed to merge a PDF, compress an image, or trim a video, I'd end up on some sketchy site that wanted me to:
- Upload my private files to their server
- Wait in a queue
- Watch ads
- Sometimes pay, sometimes create an account
- Trust them to delete the file (they don't)
I wanted one clean place where everything just⦠works. Locally. Instantly. Free.
What's inside
- PDF tools β merge, split, compress, convert, edit, unlock, watermark
- Image tools β convert, compress, resize, crop, background remover, upscaler
- Video tools β trim, compress, convert, extract audio, GIF maker
- Audio tools β MP3 cutter, converter, text-to-speech, speech-to-text
- Developer tools β JWT decoder, JSON formatter, regex tester, base64, hash
- Generators β QR codes, passwords, invoices, resumes, signatures
- Calculators β BMI, loan, mortgage, age, unit converter
- And more β 3D converters, design tools, text utilities
All 119+ tools in one place. No signup. No upload. No limits.
The privacy bit
Because everything runs in your browser, none of your files ever touch a server. That means:
- π Your PDFs stay yours
- πΌοΈ Your photos don't get scanned
- π₯ Your videos don't get leaked
- π No account, no history, no tracking of content
It also means it keeps working offline after the first visit.
It's localized in 13 languages
English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Portuguese, Italian, Hindi, Bengali, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Russian. RTL supported for Arabic.
Try it
If there's a tool you use daily that's missing, drop it in the comments β I'm adding new ones every week. Honest feedback welcome, especially the harsh kind. π
