Hello developers π
Iβm a young developer who recently built my first portfolio website, and the journey taught me a lot about coding, design, and the internet.
When I started learning programming, everything felt confusing. There were so many languages, frameworks, and tutorials. But instead of trying to learn everything, I decided to start with something simple: building a portfolio website.
π§ Why I Built a Portfolio
Most beginners focus only on learning syntax. But I wanted something real that I could show people.
A portfolio website helps you:
- Showcase your projects
- Share your skills
- Build your online presence
- Look more professional when applying for work
Even if you're a beginner, itβs one of the best projects you can build.
π What I Used
To keep things simple, I used:
- HTML for structure
- CSS for design
- JavaScript for interactivity
No frameworks. Just the basics.
This helped me understand how websites actually work.
π‘ Things I Learned
Here are some lessons from my first project:
1. Start Simple
You donβt need complex frameworks to start. Basic web technologies are powerful enough.
2. Design Matters
A clean layout and good color palette can make a simple site look professional.
3. Hosting is Easier Than You Think
You can host websites for free using platforms like Netlify or GitHub.
4. Building Projects is the Best Way to Learn
Tutorials are helpful, but real learning happens when you build something yourself.
π₯ My Advice to Beginners
If youβre starting your programming journey:
- Donβt wait to be perfect
- Start building small projects
- Share your work online
- Learn by doing
Every small project builds confidence.
π― What I'm Building Next
Right now I'm working on:
- Browser games using HTML and JavaScript
- Improving my UI design
- Learning more about web development
If youβre also a beginner developer, Iβd love to hear what youβre building.
