"Your Green Hand Helper" is an innovative AI gardening assistant designed as a "partner in plant parenthood." Built with React and powered by the Google Gemini API, its technical implementation excels in user experience, offering a friendly, intuitive interface for gardeners of all levels. The app creatively leverages multimodal features, allowing users to upload images and videos for instant plant identification, health diagnostics, and pest detection. For personalized care plans, it intelligently switches to text-based inputs for tailored advice. This seamless integration of media and text, combined with its supportive persona, makes expert plant care accessible and truly enjoyable.

How I Used Google AI Studio
Google AI Studio was instrumental for crafting the heart of the application: its friendly persona. I developed and refined the system instructions for each feature—the "plant doctor," "pest expert," and "gardening assistant"—by testing various prompts to achieve the perfect supportive tone. This iterative process ensured the model's responses were consistently helpful and aligned with the app's brand. The multimodal capabilities of Gemini were then implemented directly in the code, enabling the application to process the combination of user-uploaded images or videos alongside their text-based notes, bringing the prototyped experience to life.

The app's core multimodal feature is its ability to analyze visual media (images and videos) in conjunction with user-provided text notes. This dramatically enhances the user experience by providing the AI with rich, layered context. For instance, a user can upload a video of an unknown bug on a leaf while adding a note like, "It only appears in the morning." This combination allows for a far more accurate and specific diagnosis or identification than either input could achieve alone. It creates a natural, intuitive way for users to seek help, mirroring how they would ask a human expert.

Our Features
1. Plant Identification
Simply upload a photo or video of any plant, and our AI will identify its common and scientific names, sharing interesting facts and essential care tips. It’s perfect for understanding new houseplants or identifying mysterious plants in your garden.
2. Health Check
Upload media of a sick plant to receive a quick diagnosis, the likely cause, and a step-by-step treatment plan. To guide your recovery efforts, the app also generates a new image showing what a perfectly healthy version of your plant looks like.
3. Pest Patrol
Snap a photo or video of a bug on your plant, and the app will identify the pest and provide simple, effective methods for getting rid of it, helping you protect your plants from damage.
4. Care Plan
Enter your plant's name and your country to receive a personalized daily, weekly, and monthly care checklist. This feature also generates an image of your plant in peak health to serve as a beautiful goal.

It demystifies plant care, reduces the stress of troubleshooting, and empowers users with the confidence to grow healthy, beautiful plants. It's like having a friendly botanist, plant doctor, and pest expert on call, 24/7.
