🪟 Windows 11 inspired portfolio 🪟

👋Hi there and Happy Hacktoberfest 2021 fellow developers! 🎊
I hope you're doing fantastic!

In the past, I was powerfully impressed by a portfolio that was built like a simple OS. So, this basically has always been my small dream to build a portfolio-app that visually mimics an operating system.

Recently, I had some free time and I finally decided to turn this plan into reality. So, I started working on 🪟 Windows-11 inspired portfolio ✨.

You can try it out here: https://www.vovacodes.ca/
GitHub: https://github.com/vovaushenko/vovacodes

This is a Next.js app built from scratch, that has a small backend powered by MongoDB. It is fully written in TypeScript, so if you're learning it, you could explore the GitHub repo 💥

In a nutshell the stack is -
⭐ Next.js,
⭐ React,
⭐ Styled-Components,
⭐ Redux
⭐ Mongo DB.

The app has a design and component system powered by
💜 Storybook 💜

This is not only an OS-looking app but also beautiful slides about me, which can be found by navigating and using the OS.

The App has a ton of cool features (for instance you can leave me a comment and later it will be displayed with a nice random avatar in a flying carousel). So, leave a comment!😉 I would be happy to hear from You! 🙌

Essentially, it has a lot of nifty features, so consider exploring it and let me know what is your favorite one!✨

Notice, on mobile only portfolio part will be shown

PS. I Use Arch BTW

Happy Hacktoberfest 2021 Again! Wish you all the best!

Cheers! 🤙

That's really amazing work!
I just spent on your website like 30 minutes clicking on different folders and programs (I googled your portfolio website inside your chrome on your desktop: looked through your portfolio inside your portfolio, it was funny :D)

But there was some problem with scrolling on the project page.
When you open projects page and click on the macbook or any other gadget, it becomes unavailable to scroll down. And after you go to the end of the page (where The Goal is), you can't go to the beginning, it becomes again impossible to scroll up.
Hope you works will become more and more awesome!

Man, I gotta say, you are insane. I visited your website and explored it and it was an awesome user experience. And looks like you kinda hate Angular.

Thanks! Well, not really. I'm a big fan of the web-platform, and I can leverage any framework to get the job done.

But, I've got some Vietnam flashbacks regarding Angular. Because, once I worked on and maintained a big legacy app built with old Angular.

Ever since, I try to avoid using Angular in my non-job projects. But, to be completely fair, I've heard that Angular has improved massively.

Hey! Perhaps the best portfolio I have seen this year. I really liked the contrast theme & colors. The overall look really popped in a oled panel. Keep up the great work!

Its heavy man, truly speaking.
As a beginner, it looks like a ultimate implementation of ReactJs.

If anyone got a minute, please have a look at my portfolio. It would great to have expert opinion.

That's is the easiest part due to the work of GitHub and Microsoft. Just navigate to any repo on github (literally on github.com) and then press . (dot) on keyboard.

If you wanna use this in your apps, just embed github in an iframe and that's it. You should actually add add 1s after github url. For instance, github1s.com/facebook/react.

Cheers!
