An AI agent that books a table, plans a trip or qualifies a sales lead needs facts about real places: does this business exist, is it open, what are its hours, who answers the phone. Language models answer those from memory, and memory goes stale. In our San Francisco test, the best chat models got the big picture of the city right and the detail wrong. For facts about a specific place, have the agent look them up.
VOYGR's API is set up for agents to find and call on their own.
llms.txt: the agent's entry point
api.voygr.tech/llms.txt is a short Markdown page meant for agents. It lists the base URL, auth (one X-API-Key header), the main endpoints with a line each, credit costs and the rules for phone calls. It links a full API reference as one Markdown page and an OpenAPI 3.1 spec for client generators.
An agent can even sign a user up without anyone copying a key: POST /signup emails the user a 6-digit code, and POST /signup/verify with that code returns the key.
REST: validate and enrich places
Two calls cover most place questions.
POST /v1/validate takes a name and address and answers whether the place exists there and whether it's open, closed, unknown or not_exists.
POST /v1/enrich returns the attributes you ask for: phone, website, socials, opening hours, owners and key people, plus custom attributes you describe in plain English.
curl https://api.voygr.tech/v1/enrich \
--request POST \
--header "X-API-Key: $VOYGR_API_KEY" \
--header "Content-Type: application/json" \
--data '{
"poi_name": "Example Bakery",
"address": "123 Example Street",
"country": "US",
"attributes": ["open_closed", "opening_hours", "phone",
{"name": "outdoor_seating", "description": "Does the place have outdoor seating?", "value_type": "bool"}]
}'
Every value comes back with a confidence and an as_of date, so the agent can tell fresh facts from old ones. Batch jobs take up to 10,000 places.
MCP: when the agent needs to act
https://api.voygr.tech/mcp is a streamable-HTTP MCP server with four tools:
-
suggest_placesfinds up to six US businesses for a request like "a romantic restaurant in Chicago, Saturday 8pm", each with a phone number and a ready call brief -
place_callphones a business with a task in plain English -
get_call_resultreturns the outcome, transcript and recording -
answer_questionreplies when the voice agent needs a decision mid-call
Clients with OAuth sign-in can connect without a key. In Claude Code, the PlaceCall plugin sets it up:
/plugin marketplace add voygr-tech/placecall
/plugin install placecall@placecall
Cost
Keys are free to start with 2.5K credits and no card. Standard enrichment attributes cost one credit per business. A phone call that reaches a real conversation is 10 credits. No answer, voicemail and hang-ups are free.
Start at api.voygr.tech/llms.txt, or point your agent there.
