How to Add, Remove and Rearrange Tiles on a Galaxy Watch

Swipe left from your Galaxy Watch face and you land on tiles: quick screens for weather, steps, alarms, workouts and more. Samsung lets you add up to 15 of them, remove the ones you never use, and put them in whatever order makes sense. This guide follows Samsung's own support page. Screens and settings can vary by provider, phone and watch.

What tiles are

Samsung calls them widgets on older watches and tiles on the most recent Galaxy Watch models. Either way, they sit to the left of your watch face, one swipe at a time. Samsung notes you can add up to 15 tiles. If you've reached the limit, remove one before adding another.

Add a tile on the watch

  1. From the watch's Home screen, swipe left until you reach the end of your tiles.
  2. Tap Add tiles (or Add widget on some models).
  3. Swipe to the tile you want and tap it.

Your new tile now appears when you swipe left from the Home screen.

Remove a tile on the watch

  1. Swipe left until you reach the tile you want to remove.
  2. Touch and hold it.
  3. Tap the red Minus icon.

Rearrange tiles on the watch

  1. Swipe left to find your tiles, then touch and hold one.
  2. Drag and drop it to the position you want.
  3. Use the blue circle as a guide for where it will land.

Do it all from your phone

If the watch screen feels cramped, use the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone instead. Samsung notes some watch models can only manage widgets through the app.

Add or remove:

  1. Open the Galaxy Wearable app and tap Tiles (or Widgets).
  2. To add one, tap it under Add tiles. It appears in the top row with your current tiles.
  3. Tap the red Minus icon to remove a tile.
  4. Tap Save.

Rearrange:

  1. In Galaxy Wearable, tap Tiles.
  2. Touch and hold a tile at the top of the screen.
  3. Drag and drop it where you want it, using the blank circle as a guide.
  4. Tap Save.

Customize a tile

Some tiles have their own settings. On the Galaxy Watch4 and Watch5 series, Samsung describes:

  1. From the Home screen, swipe left and touch and hold the tile.
  2. Tap Edit under the tile and adjust its options.

Samsung lists Contacts, Multi-workouts, Together, Weather and World Clock among the tiles that can be customized. You can only pick from tiles on the watch or ones a downloaded app provides; you can't create your own.

Plan a tile order that works

  • First swipe, most used. Put the tile you check most, like weather or daily activity, right next to the face.
  • Group by purpose. Health tiles together, then tools like alarms and media controls.
  • Leave out what the face already shows. If your watch face displays steps, you may not need a Steps tile too.
  • Keep it short. Fifteen is the cap, not a target. Five or six well-chosen tiles are faster to swipe through.

Troubleshooting

  • Can't add a tile: you may have hit the 15-tile limit. Remove one first.
  • Tile options missing: certain tiles can't be customized.
  • Changes in the app didn't appear: make sure you tapped Save in Galaxy Wearable.
  • Galaxy Fit or Fit2: Samsung says widgets on these are managed only in the Galaxy Wearable app.

Going further with WatchLux

Tiles cover the swipe; the face covers everything else. WatchLux, the face app I built, has over 750 faces on both watchOS and Wear OS, so you can pick a face that leaves your tiles to do the detail work. All artwork is created with generative AI tools.

WatchLux is free to download and preview; subscription unlocks the full catalog and removes ads.

My team specializes in advanced generative AI art and video, and WatchLux and ScreenLux are where we apply it to the watch and the phone.
