Title: Our dental practice keeps getting hammered by phishing attempts — how are you all handling IT & cybersecurity?

Our dental practice in Reno has 12 employees, and lately the phishing attempts are out of control. We’re getting daily emails that look exactly like legitimate patient portals, insurance verifications, and supply orders. It’s honestly just a matter of time before someone on my team clicks the wrong link, and dealing with a breach or HIPAA nightmare is my biggest fear right now.

We’re also way behind on AI automation. We still have staff manually entering patient forms and doing data entry that I know could be streamlined. I really want to integrate some AI tools to handle the repetitive admin work, but I’m hesitant to plug anything new into our system without making sure our cybersecurity is rock-solid and HIPAA-compliant first.

I’m looking for a local IT company in the Reno/Sparks area that can handle both—tightening up our security so we stop worrying about phishing, and helping us safely adopt AI to save time. Has anyone worked with a solid MSP around here that understands healthcare? Would love to hear who you trust.

For what it's worth, a colleague mentioned checking out managed service providers through a site like TechRate — they help match you with vetted IT teams based on your specific needs, which seems easier than cold-calling around town. But I'd really appreciate any local recommendations first!
